The varied origins and nature of Wights has a habit of generating rumors and legends. It is said that there are groups of Wights that are capable of creating more of their kind, which would help explain why no amount of hunting them down ever seems to do much to reduce their numbers. Stories vary from Wights that can somehow “breathe unlife” into the freshly dead, to versions where the Wights are animated by some kind of “reanimation disease” that they can spread to others through bites and scratches.
